Fan site "Always Alexis" is a tribute to the amazing Alexis Denisof, better know as Wesley Wyndam-Pryce of "Angel" fame.

Wesley is the most evolved of the Angel characters, going from bumbling fool to bad-ass in 5 years.  There's too much to the character for me to cover in a couple of sentences.  Alexis is one of my favorites.

I love "Rock of Love 2".  What can I say?  It has an 80's glam rocker, hot chicks and a number in the name.  Ambre is my girl.  If she loses I'll be so broken up.

Oh Bret, don't blow it.  Not every rose has a thorn...

I have completed transcribing my last analog journal, the AODarkCompanion to this blog, and I can now focus on other things.  There may be a scrap or two of paper somewhere that hasn't been digitized, but for the most part it's done.  Now I can search for a driver that will work on my very old scanner, which will keep me busy.  Old photos, drawings and doodles can be forever held in the belly of my typing t.v.

Will this ever end?  Actually I'm 3/4 of the way through my final Mead composition pad which documents the creation of your hero and mine, Mr. freaking Mann.  Reading old journal stuff is weird.  I can see the frustration or the misery from a certain entry and I'm just not feeling it.  But it's there and I empathize with my previous year's self.  If time travel were possible I could go back and beat the living hell out of myself at those times and teach myself a lesson.  There are a few key moments in time I would visit and lay on the same ass whooping to the young Greg Lester every single time.

I will have this journal wrapped up in a day or two and then it's all digital.

I rarely go to the movies anymore, unless it's kid oriented, so I catch them on cable.  Always late to the party.  This weeks entry is "300".  Amazing! Graphic, violent, spectacular.  The battle scenes are so complete.  I described them to Mr. Weller as "satisfying".  I was ready to take up spear and shield as I watched them defend their homeland and lay waste to the enemy over, and over, and over again.  This is how war should be done.  Pardon me while I stretch out on the couch.

I completed transcribing the final pages from 1994-1999, the last being a few random pages from the Portland era, as well as a few pages of my story "The Organist", written in 2000-2001.  The story is of an unemployed organ salesman who finds himself playing for a local church and is offered a position by the priest.  It is nice to revisit this one and perhaps I will find the motivation to complete it.  I have a few attempts on it, all not quite right, but it is in the back of my mind.

I just finished transcribing old journal entries from old scraps of paper to my computer this evening.  They seem to end in April of 1999, just two months after moving to Portland, OR.  I can't seem to find any more from that year.  It's too bad.  Going through them has brought back a lot of memories.  I may have stopped writing at that point and picked up again after moving to Dallas in 2000.  It seems we had a lot on our plate at the time.  I have copied over 45,000 words from 1994 to 1999 and they are all written on legal pads or single sheets of paper, so it has been a chore.  I started this back in 2004 and although I still have quite a bit to copy, the dated material is all done.  Now I need to sift through the remaining stuff and try to figure out when it was written.  Sigh.  No more paper for me.  I'll be more diligent about using the computer from now on.  It's just too much of a time killer.  Kurt and I have talked about doing Cafe Press editions of our old journals, and I think that's what I will do.  I do have a journal filled from 2006-2007 which I look at as a supplement to this site, my uncensored version and I'll be transcribing that soon as well, one hundred pages all hand written.  Sigh.  I'm definitely using Word from now on, no more of this antiquated paper.
