"30 Days of Night" is my nightmare.  I used to think I feared the whole zombie thing, but really, it's got to be vampires.  My favorite vampire movie recently has been "Underworld" and that's for several reasons.  The main one being it's an action movie more than a horror flick.  I love the comic book vibe, the smoking hot vampire chicks and how the monsters are all so gothic-tight.  They have a coolness about them, and are intelligent and worldly.  They want to have a place in the world and use their ability to create and build to elevate themselves within the human populous.  Sure, they are hungry for our blood, but they have developed synthetic blood because they know it will keep them off of the human's radar and will provide incredible profits as well.  They are business-centric.

"30 Days of Night" has a different breed of vamps, and I think the more realistic version, were vampires real.  It is truly a nightmare, a mix of intelligence and the unending blood-thirst of the most cruel predator.  You wouldn't want to be one of these folks.  They see humans as a menace that deserves the pain inflicted.  They look very old world, Eastern European and don't wear the fancy Marilyn Manson makeup and leathers.  No lace or silk on these monsters.  They look very much like common villagers, very closed off from the world and stuck in their ways.  If you see them, you are so dead.  I loved this movie, and it's probably one of my favorite vamp movies of all time, right next to "Underworld", the yin to its yang.

I just can't get enough of the ole' Butch Walker!  This one is my all time favorite Butch tune.  For now...

The Taste Of Red

Well i tripped and i fell
Into a hole i know so well
And i don't think i'll be
Leaving for awhile

And this lump beneath my skin
Is the home i let you in
All it took was just your
Red lipped biting smile

Damn damn damn i love you
Like the stars that shine above you
Light the ground that your laying on
While looking up at me

Slurring thoughts 'til they bled
Cuz i love the taste of red
And you're stuck inside me
Like a splinter does

Drawing words on your back
Spelling you my heart attack
'Cause your naked body
Glistens in the sun

And damn damn damn i love you
Like the stars that shine above you
Light the ground that your laying on
While looking up at me

And oh good god i need this
Just a chance to show your weakness
So i can come inside of your kiss and just
Leave you on your knees

Sweetness!!  I passed my Network + certification today, two weeks of training paid off!  I am now stress free tonight and all is well.  Rock of Love Bus is good stuff, my favorite is Ashley, she's feisty, foul mouthed and way fine.  My wife doesn't watch it, but will walk thru the room occasionally, and always comments on her chest, "obviously fake!", and it's odd that it always seems to happen when she's on screen.  Her boobs must be prominent throughout filming.  me likey.  anyway, she is catty and says the funniest things.  My girl, my girl, my girl.  Talkin' 'bout, my girl.  My girl!"

traded in an old heavy metal style double kick drum set and an acoustic guitar for some new recording gear at the local musical depot.  good because i want to rock.  bad because im starting a two week training course at work tomorrow and probably wont have any time or energy to learn how to use this new gear.  study intensive course.  brain draining.  rock straining...

I am a bit restless this morning.  The high from the pilot episode of "The Outer Channel Radio Show" has finally dissipated, but I am still just as excited about our next show.  But I have things to do and not enough time to do it.  There is a little guitar/computer interface on the way, should get here in a couple days.  I am trying to straighten up my office to put my drumset back together.  I think I'm gonna trade in some gear Monday and get a bass guitar, blow out the musical cobwebs and put together a few ditties for the radio show.  Kurt's gears are turning, mine are too, and we're all about forming a solid two hours of entertainment every two weeks.  Ahhhh!  Hurry up already!
